Josh Rosenblum Headlines The State Theatre in Modesto, May 3

On Friday, May 3rd, Josh Rosenblum will headline the historic State Theatre in a homecoming concert supported with some longtime band members including Cedric Jones on percussion and his brother Andrew Rosenblum on saxophone.

Local favorite Neil Buettner opens the show.

Josh was born and raised in Modesto in a musically saturated, jazz-oriented family. His grandfather, father, and 3 siblings all played professional trumpet, influencing Josh in the instrument at age 4.   He later started taking music classes in middle school followed by a music scholarship for a jazz camp in Lafayette, CA where he would realize his undying passion for music.

During high school, Josh participated on trumpet in every ensemble available including marching, jazz, and concert band. For his 15th  birthday, he received an acoustic guitar and immediately began teaching himself to play. He soon started writing music and uploading crude recordings to Myspace, followed by booking his own shows and creating his  brand as an artist.

Throughout high school and college, Josh worked freelance as a sit-in musician on trumpet, guitar, vocals, drums, and bass for various local acts, which helped him to discover what kind of a performer he wanted to be and contributed to refining his versatility in different genres. Many years, shows and album releases later, Josh continues to experiment and apply his music education to his full-time music career.

Josh now resides in San Luis Obispo, CA where he plays the county's biggest venues, festivals and parks, and won 2023's prestigious award "Best Album" in the New Times Music Awards.

Tickets are available online at The State:
